INITIAL NOTES ON MUSIC ARTIST POSTER

The music artist poster is a an ancillary product which promotes an artist and their work. This may be a tour, new album or documentary film of their musical life (One Direction, Katy Perry). Similar to the Magazine Advertisement, the Music Artist Poster advertises the artist to the audience to gain sales and increase revenue.

These are two very different examples of a music artist poster. The Nicki Minaj poster is very reminiscent of colours and styles that are associated with her brand. She is fond of pink, which is used on the cover of her album Pink Friday whilst the black and white filter is very popular with The Beatles, this effect was used on a number of records and posters of the band. It is very important that the poster reflects the artist accurately in order to promote them and advertise them correctly.
